Rotten Negatives
Moldy negatives, found by Eugen Bal in a cellar in Kyiv, Ukraine, in the early 2000s. He gave me digital copies, which I then worked on and colored. This resulted in the image you see now.

Bull (series of screen prints, Beijing 2013) was created on Chinese paper and reworked using mixed media. These are pure, original prints.

Mixed media On paper by Drew Mattot. The pink paper is a signature of Drew’s work, created for the Peacepaperproject. In the United States, he asked participants in a papermaking workshop to bring him “Make America Great Again” T-shirts and caps, which he then shredded and transformed into paper.

Swedish shoe sketch paper found in the late 1990s in the ruins of the former Pirol shoe factory in Erlensee/Hanau (Germany). Reworked in 2009-2010.

In a former forge, our OTOMOTO rehearsal space and studio in Berlin. Before the building and garden were demolished at the end of March 2026, everything had to be emptied. These two frames remained, their origin unknown. I took them.

Bait
I was invited to a street art and sculpture festival in Vyksa, Russia, in 2013. There were so many mosquitoes that I went to a fishing shop to buy mosquito hats. The photos of fishing baits were reworked into a series in 2016.

Conscious Earth · 1980
Invited by FRIGO to the land of a friend, Alain Guichardot, in Yvoire (France), I dug a six-meter-long underground garden and buried personal belongings there, so that “the earth might be conscious”. I covered them with layers of earth mixed with tree branches. Postcard and poster.
