Edges of Life
This exhibition brings together works that question the representation of life and its transformation into an image. Through drawings, collages, and paintings, Claudia Renna explores zones of friction at the edges of life where forms meet, collide, and redefine themselves. Rather than illustrating life, these works question its flows, tensions, and relationships. Animals, humans, and environments appear as intertwined presences, traversed by unstable connections—sometimes fragile, sometimes enduring. The image is not considered a simple tool for capture, but rather a space for negotiation: an attempt to approach what eludes us, and what persists at the margins of life.

Thierry Raboud Performance-Lecture, A World in Liquidation
Friday, June 12 at 6:30 pm
Echoing the creatures that populate Claudia Renna’s lost paradise, writer Thierry Raboud presents a musical reading from his book A World in Liquidation. This poetic and documentary investigation, recently published by Editions La Baconnière, resurrects several polar bear mascots forgotten in the depths of a collapsing Swiss glacier and traces their presence in our symbolic imagination, somewhere between a comfort object and a disaster. Video to come.

Claudia Renna lives and works in Lausanne. She employs a variety of techniques and develops a sensitive yet inventive approach to the image. Her works give rise to poetic, sometimes fragmented, universes that sketch a form of recomposition of reality, evoking the idea of a “lost paradise.” She has presented her work in solo and group exhibitions, both in Switzerland and abroad. Her career has also been marked by several artist residencies, notably in the Netherlands (De Fabriek), Cairo, most recently in Genoa at the City of Lausanne’s studios, and in Martigny at the Villa Mirage Cultural Center. Active in the French-speaking Swiss art scene, she is involved in various collective projects, particularly with LaClac publishing house, for a range of artists’ publications. https://claudiarenna.ch
